West Virginia reduces mileage reimbursement rate for state workers
STATE WORKERS WHO USE THEIR OWN CARS on the job will be eligible for only 44.4 cents per mile reimbursement, down from the 50.5 cent rate that had been in effect since July 1. Officials said the state is not required to follow federal mileage guidelines, such as the 55 cents per mile the IRS uses to calculate deductible costs. They also said employees have options other than using their own cars, including using state vehicles or rental cars.
