ERP price wars escalate, while some foresee demand will shift to SaaS
INTUIT IS OFFERING AN INCENTIVE TO LURE customers away from its competitor Sage. Earlier, Sage offered a similar promotion to customers who switched away from Intuit's Quickbooks Enterprise Solutions. And in October, NetSuite Inc. pitched a special deal to users of SalesForce software.
Meanwhile, as these ERP vendors wrestle mightily for each others' customers, some IT analysts believe they're missing the boat by not offering easy-to-use software-as-a-service applications instead.
