Candidates for the CAPP exam must meet specific qualifications criteria, as outlined below.

• Apply, and be approved, to take the CAPP exam
• Provide employment verification
• Meet and provide proof of specified education and experience criteria (see below)
• Agree to uphold the IAPP Code of Ethics
Education/Experience Criteria
CAPP candidates should possess the minimum accounts payable management or professional experience with the applicable degree as follows:

• Two years or more experience with a bachelor’s degree or higher. |

• Three years or more experience with a Higher National Diploma or equivalent. |
| |
• Five years or more experience without higher education qualifications. |
Experience must be recent, with at least the minimum number of years completed within one year preceding the exam date. Candidates returning to AP whose experience occurred more than one year prior to the exam date must complete the minimum experience again to be eligible. Experience must be substantiated in conjunction with employment verification through written notice or letter from the candidate’s supervisor.
There is no waiver of the experience requirement.
